OPERATION INFRASTRUCTURE

Don Bosco Self Employment Research Institute (DBSERI) with the state of the Art of training youth on Down to Earth Technologies have captured the eyes of the government authorities.

Few Years back DBSERI was called up to sit with the planning committee of the Ministry of Panchayat & Rural Development,Government of West Bengal,to share the concern and the challenges in implementing the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). The State government sought the collaboration of DBSERI to share our expertise to train the Gram Rojgar Sevokes (GRS).The real site supervisor of the NREGA programme were academically qualified but required appropriate technical training to work on the project sites.

After discussing and motivating the outgoing batch of Civil Engineering Technician Courses students to take up the challenge of training approximately 4500 GRS from the various districts of West Bengal,we undertook the commencement of the training immediately. More than a year and a half has passed and our record shows we have trained 2820 GRS till the month of March 2011.

The department is very pleased with the outcome of this training and subsequently they have requested DBSERI to arrange training for 1100 Jeevika Sevak (JS). Till March 2011, 896 JS received training in our Institute.
